Therapeutic Speech Specialist

Brook Street Social Care is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to enhance our Therapy division. In this role, you will support individuals facing intricate challenges related to speech, language, and communication.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions for students within an educational framework
• Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to integrate therapy objectives into the learning environment
• Keeping precise documentation and liaising with caregivers and external organizations
• Offering guidance and training to caregivers, educational staff, and other professionals
• Overseeing students and support personnel

Key duties involve:

• Applying evidence-based therapeutic strategies
• Managing a diverse caseload of students and preparing comprehensive reports
• Creating individualized therapy plans and measurable targets
• Effectively conveying complex information
• Prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently
• Providing training, oversight, and mentorship to team members
• Complying with organizational policies and contributing to their evolution

Preferred qualifications:

• Familiarity with various Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods
• Recent and relevant professional development evidence
• Experience with training specific to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Background in working with older children
