Job Title: Public Health Strategist

We are seeking an experienced Public Health Strategist to join our team and contribute to the prevention of child deaths in Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, City & Hackney.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work within the Child Death Review Hub, providing public health expertise to the Child Death Review System. This critical role aims to prevent future child deaths by learning from past incidents and improving health and wellbeing in the boroughs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an evidence-based approach to preventing child death in the boroughs.
  • Develop a systematic approach to sharing and disseminating learning from child deaths across all boroughs.
  • Work closely with the CDOP Manager to analyse child death data and inform public health approaches.
  • Support Public Health programmes to reduce inequalities and improve health in Newham.
  • Collaborate with partners, including the NHS, voluntary sector, and Newham Council's Children's Services.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have strong partnership working skills, excellent project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple areas of work. They will also be able to review public health interventions and evaluate their impact and cost-effectiveness.
