About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Financial Planning to join our team at Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Finance department, you will play a crucial role in leading our financial planning and management functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial plans that align with the Trust's strategic objectives, ensuring effective financial management and control.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the production of accurate and timely financial reports, including budget reports, financial monitoring information, and management accounting aspects of the monthly finance report.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with clinical and corporate directorates to provide financial management advice, enabling them to meet targets and deliver an efficient and cost-effective service.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Lead on contract negotiations and management, ensuring that the Trust's financial interests are protected and that contracts are managed effectively.
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Coordinate the development and implementation of financial systems and processes, ensuring that they are efficient, effective, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: CCAB qualified accountant with a strong understanding of financial management and reporting.
  • Experience: Significant recent experience at a senior managerial level within a finance role, including staff management and development experience.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under own initiative and make decisions.
