Pyramid8 Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Group Transport Planner to join our client's team in Heckmondwike. As a key member of the operational team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of goods.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and plan routes for drivers, ensuring compliance with relevant transport laws and regulations.
- Manage driver workforce, prioritizing tasks and minimizing idling or unnecessary miles.
- Develop and implement effective transportation strategies, utilizing Transport Management Systems (TMS) and other tools.
- Collaborate with drivers, dispatchers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor and analyze transportation data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- At least three years' experience in transport route planning, with a strong understanding of UK geography, drivers' hours, and records.
- Commercial experience, including preparing quotations and understanding costs involved in performing a contract.
- Knowledge of transport logistics and technical regulations, including fleet utilisation, compliance, and safety.
- IT proficiency, with experience using TMS such as Vigo, TachoMaster, FleetCheck, Matrix Telematics, and PDA's.
- Membership of a professional body, such as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
- Experience with the Fleet Operating Recognition Scheme (FORS) and working for a FORS Silver or Gold Operator.
- CPC Transport Manager certification.
- HGV Class 1 or Class 2 license.
- Forklift Truck Licence.
- CPC Driver Card.
