Hywel Dda University Health Board is responsible for the planning and provision of NHS healthcare services for the populations of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and surrounding areas. Our dedicated team of 12,000 staff delivers a wide range of services, including primary care, community health, hospital care, mental health, and learning disabilities support, serving approximately 384,000 individuals across a significant portion of Wales.

Qualifications and Expertise

Essential Qualifications

  • A master's level qualification or equivalent experience in senior management;
  • A post-graduate management qualification or equivalent experience;
  • Evidence of ongoing management and personal development;
  • A project or program management qualification or equivalent experience;
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare strategies, policies, and current priorities.

Required Experience

  • A substantial portfolio of experience in a senior role within a large, complex organization;
  • In-depth knowledge across various disciplines, including general management, financial oversight, business planning, governance, clinical strategies, and performance, gained through specialized training or extensive experience;
  • Significant experience in planning, developing, influencing, and executing strategies, along with a proven track record in strategic and operational management;
  • Extensive experience utilizing performance management processes;
  • A history of implementing service improvements, transformational changes, and delivering large-scale projects;
  • Significant experience in staff management and collaboration with trade unions, partner organizations, and the public to facilitate change;
  • Proven ability to achieve objectives against challenging performance targets while supporting others in contributing to these goals.
