About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Design Engineer to join our team at Babcock. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering large-scale process-engineering themed projects for our key customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all process engineering design work in support of winning and delivering projects, ensuring the business maintains its position as a world leader in the delivery of marine cargo handling and fuel gas systems.
  • Design activities associated with marine and offshore liquefied gas plants, ensuring safe and economical design while striving for continuous improvement.
  • Develop process heat/mass balance to size and select equipment, and prepare calculations for line sizing, control valves, relief systems, process control, and utility requirements.
  • Produce technical documentation, including formal submission of calculations, reports, and operating manuals.
  • Collaborate with Control and Instrumentation Engineers to define process control philosophy and plant logic requirements early in the design phase.
Requirements
  • MEng degree qualified in Chemical Engineering.
  • Time served relevant experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Product and Process Safety systems, including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and LoPA.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
