Electrical Technician

Serco

Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Monday – Friday, flexible hours.

Salary - Competitive, based on experience, plus Serco Benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary objective is to ensure the safe and effective upkeep of the electrical systems and apparatus within the facility, as instructed by the management team.

Core Duties:

  • Maintain the integrity of the building, infrastructure, machinery, services, and equipment to uphold high standards of efficiency, safety, and reliability, ensuring the long-term viability of the estate as per contractual obligations.
  • Prioritize safety at all times, evaluating all aspects of tasks and taking necessary actions. Recognize when to seek guidance or support and understand personal limitations.
  • Execute reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, commissioning, and upkeep of a diverse range of services, machinery, and equipment as directed by supervisors.
  • Conduct Planned Preventive Maintenance on various machinery and equipment.
  • Adhere to all relevant Serco policies, workplace regulations, and best practice guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe and responsible working environment, considering the safety of oneself and others.
  • Comply with the computerized time and attendance system.
  • Actively engage in the computerized labor control system, ensuring accurate and timely completion of work order documentation.
  • Utilize personal communication devices as required.
  • Be prepared to work beyond standard hours in exceptional circumstances, as requested by supervisors.
  • Report any unresolved faults or defects and requirements for spare parts to supervisors.
  • Participate in on-site and off-site training as necessary.
  • Understand how the Electrical Technician role contributes to Serco's objectives and the broader company goals.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship or equivalent structured training program.
  • Relevant City & Guilds or BTEC certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical building services.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
