Paediatric Gastroenterology Nurse Specialist

Job Opportunity:
NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking a skilled Paediatric Gastroenterology Nurse Specialist to join their team at University Hospital Crosshouse.
About the Role:
This is a fixed-term/secondment position until August 2025, requiring 15 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will provide specialist nursing care, education, and support to individuals and their carers living with gastroenterology conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and support to patients with gastroenterology conditions.
- Facilitate seamless care by working closely with colleagues and local authorities.
- Monitor high-risk patients and provide treatment/guidance within the scope of practice.
- Ensure evidence-based practice is carried out in line with regional and national gastroenterology strategies.
Requirements:
- NMC Registered Nurse.
- Significant experience in caring for patients with gastroenterology conditions.
- Education to degree level or Specialist qualification or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resilience.
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A car licence/car ownership is essential for this role.
Working Hours:
The working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings from 1 April 2024. However, implementation may take longer in some areas, and you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety.
