As a vital member of the Manufacturing Assembly, Integration, and Testing (MAIT) team, your role will focus on ensuring that products are assembled and evaluated to the highest standards, encompassing a diverse range of products including flight hardware and innovative research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble cutting-edge research and development products along with flight hardware.
• Assist in the testing of upcoming products and flight hardware, which includes functional, electrical, vibration, shock, thermal vacuum, and radio frequency testing.
• Develop and document Manufacturing Assembly Procedures (MAPs) and Test Procedures.
• Conduct thorough inspections of machined components utilizing in-house metrology tools.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Assurance team to establish and document qualified MAIT processes as necessary.
• Follow internal protocols until task completion and contribute to identifying and suggesting process enhancements, supporting their implementation if approved.
• Participate in customer and internal review sessions.
• Travel to subcontractors or suppliers as needed.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• Strong foundation in engineering principles with hands-on experience in assembling precision components.
• Proven experience in utilizing metrology equipment effectively.
• Understanding of both theoretical and practical elements of MAIT, including functional testing, electrical bonding and isolation, vibration, shock, thermal vacuum, and kinematic testing of deployable systems.
• Demonstrated ability to follow assembly procedures meticulously.
• In-depth knowledge of detailed technical drawings, surface finishes, tolerances, and materials.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to adapt working hours to meet project timelines, including occasional extended hours or weekends.
