Platform Infrastructure Engineer

The Analytics Platform team within our Data Science and Measurement department is seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join our team. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure to collect user behavior data from our websites and mobile applications with reliability, scale, and speed.
We are working towards setting up a hub and spoke model where we introduce best practices to track the right aspects of user activity and enhance our user behavior analytics platform capabilities. You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for building and maintaining infrastructure to collect user behavior data from our websites and mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities- Build and manage the Snowplow Analytics infrastructure on AWS, including deploying upgrades to the pipeline, automating existing pipeline processes, quality control, and following performance parameters, scalability, and best practices.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure we understand business requirements and design the platform and pipeline in such a way that those needs are met.
- Collaborate with product engineers to ensure stability and adoption of tracking and analytics tooling.
- Documentation is key, and training team members and the wider business to adopt the pipeline and use best practices would also be a part of the job.
- On-Call support along with other team members in a rota to keep the pipeline up and running 24/7.
- Experience in a cloud or platform engineering role.
- Experience with AWS technologies such as S3, EC2, Lambda, EKS, and Kinesis.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, C#,.NET, Golang, Rust).
- Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience investigating and resolving operational incidents.
- Ability to provision infrastructure as code, utilise CI/CD and GitOps processes, and implement monitoring and observability tools.
- Experience with Snowplow Analytics (preferred).
- Experience with GCP, Google Big Query, and proficiency in SQL (preferred).
- Experience with streaming data and real-time data processing (preferred).
- Experience with data governance and data security best practices (preferred).
