Main Job Responsibilities

The Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Trust Grade doctor to join their team. As a LAS Trust Grade doctor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical psychiatric support to patients and working closely with the Specialist Mental Health team.

Key Duties:

  • Assessing new patients for specialist mental health diagnosis and developing effective treatment plans.
  • Collaborating with primary care, GP, and voluntary sector organizations to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Regular liaison with the SMHT Area consultant for patients requiring ongoing care coordination or secondary care treatment for severe mental health conditions.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.

Eligibility:

  • Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment.

Skills/Experience:

Essential:

  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice.
  • Clinical judgement: experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk.
  • Effective communication skills: demonstrates clarity in written/spoken communication and capacity to adapt language as appropriate to the situation.
  • Commitment to clinical governance / improving quality of patient care.

  • Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.
