We are seeking a Community Support Facilitator to join our Me Time Programme. In this position, you will be an integral member of the Me Time Team, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to assisting individuals across various community environments.
The Me Time initiative is Mencap's approach to social inclusion, recreation, and community engagement. It aims to empower individuals with learning disabilities to enhance their skills and confidence, broaden their social circles, and achieve full participation in their local communities.
The Me Time programme offers diverse support, collaborating with individuals through activities and facilitating access to local opportunities.
Individuals with learning disabilities guide the activities they wish to pursue, such as arts & crafts, gardening, drama, sports, cooking & baking, and ICT skills. This empowers everyone to acquire and refine new skills, forge and sustain friendships, and engage with a vibrant local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute actively and positively as a colleague by offering innovative ideas and solutions to enhance both individual and team performance.
- Ensure that the plans established for the individuals we support are centered around their needs, with their full involvement in all aspects of the planning and review process.
- Exhibit creativity, dynamism, and adaptability in response to potential challenges related to the needs of the individuals we support.
- Complete all documentation requirements promptly, ensuring high-quality reporting and record-keeping.
- Communicate with the individuals being supported with dignity and respect at all times.
- Build rapport not only with the individuals we support but also with the broader community, including family members.
- Work in a manner that empowers the individuals supported to make decisions and choices, enabling them to access new opportunities aligned with their desired lifestyle.
