Power Electronics Engineer

My client, a global leader in the defence industry, is seeking an Electrical Engineer with expertise in Power Electronics to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology developments in the Radars and Sensors discipline.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop AC & DC power generation and distribution systems, including sizing, protection, control, and specification of power supplies and converters.
- Develop motor drives, control, and positioning systems experience.
- Generate component-level electronic designs for introduction into volume production.
- Work in a defence or high-safety-integrity environment, adhering to Electrical Safety Standards and EMC qualification to DEF STAN 59-411.
- Design verification using simulation, analysis, and test techniques, including support to EMC test houses and customer installations.
- Gather evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety.
- Apply a rigorous approach to safety aspects associated with high power/high voltage equipment.
- Support new electrical circuit board layouts designs and upgrades, gathering evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety.
Requirements:
- 5 years UK residency and security clearance are essential for this role.
