Kitchen Porter Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of our kitchen, assist chefs with food preparation, and ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Wash and clean dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Sweep and mop floors, and remove trash and recycling.
  • Assist with basic food preparation, such as peeling and chopping vegetables.
  • Receive and store deliveries of food and supplies.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Help set up and close down the kitchen.
  • Assist in the cleaning of cooking equipment and work surfaces.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen team members to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
  • Report any maintenance or health and safety issues to the relevant person.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings.
