Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to join our inclusive and dynamic team, working with primary and secondary-aged students who require one-to-one support. The role primarily involves supporting an individual pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), often outlined within an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to a student with SEN, as outlined in their EHCP
- Work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
- Assist the student with their academic and personal needs, including organization, time management, and social skills
- Communicate effectively with the student, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to promote the student's inclusion and participation in class
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with SEN, preferably in a primary or secondary setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
- Knowledge of SEN legislation and policies, including the EHCP
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
What We Offer:
- A supportive and inclusive work environment, with opportunities for professional development and growth
- A competitive salary and benefits package, including pension scheme and annual leave
- The chance to make a positive impact on the lives of students with SEN, and contribute to their academic and personal success
