About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Nurse to join our team as a Functional Assessor. As a Functional Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing individuals and how their disabilities or conditions affect their work life. You will draw on your clinical expertise to listen carefully and take down each person's medical history before performing a physical examination. Your task will be to produce concise, accurate reports for the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) so they can decide each person's eligibility for benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess individuals and how their disabilities or conditions affect their work life
  • Draw on clinical expertise to listen carefully and take down each person's medical history
  • Perform physical examinations and produce concise, accurate reports
  • Work with the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) to decide each person's eligibility for benefits
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • An NMC Level 1 Registered Adult Nurse qualification
  • A minimum of 12 months broad-based clinical post-registration experience within the past 5 years
  • Experience of working with adults in a range of clinical situations
  • Great oral and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and respond to a rapidly changing environment
  • IT skills and experience of using a range of software
  • Self-aware and focused on professional development
  • Honest and able to maintain integrity and customer confidentiality
  • Motivated to contribute to quality customer service, demonstrating empathy, respect and sensitivity in assessment delivery
  • Able to work on your own initiative to meet deadlines and standards
  • Ready to work as a reliable and efficient team member and willing to support the multi-disciplinary team
