We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Valuer/Senior Valuer to join our team at Renfrewshire Valuation Joint Board.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the survey and valuation of all lands and heritages in a designated geographical area, in accordance with the Lands Valuation Acts and the Local Government Finance Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys and valuations of lands and heritages
  • Negotiate and discuss appeals with taxpayers and professional agents
  • Appear as an expert witness at First and Second Tier Tribunals
  • Prepare and present reports and proposals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Chartered Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Valuation Faculty)
  • Knowledge and/or experience in valuation for Rating and Council Tax
  • Excellent analytical, valuation, and negotiation skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Computer literacy and ability to meet service user needs
