Network Specialist

**About the Role**

A global investment management firm is seeking a highly skilled Network Specialist to collaborate with Ncounter Limited. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering optimal trading and research platforms through the design, implementation, and management of advanced network solutions.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Design, implement, and manage scalable, deterministic network solutions in a highly available multi-vendor enterprise/co-location environment.
* Collaborate closely with stakeholders, software engineers, and other infrastructure teams to deliver state-of-the-art trading platforms.
* Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support, managing escalation and correction of performance and availability issues.

**Requirements**

* Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and CCNP certification or higher.
* Extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including:
* Unicast: OSPF, BGP, NAT, IPSEC, and GRE, VRFs
* Multicast: PIM, RP, MSDP, IGMP, SSM
* Switching: STP, PC/vPC/MLAG, CDP/LLDP, QoS, HSRP/VRRP, VLAN/VxLAN
* Monitoring: LANZ, Sflow, Kibana, Prometheus
* Security: AAA (Radius/TACACS), control planes, device hardening.

**Preferred Skills**

* Experience in enterprise or co-location environments with Cisco and Arista product exposure.
* Familiarity with Cisco's Unified Communication, Collaboration, and Voice technologies.
* Knowledge of Cyber (Palo Alto, Fortinet) and Cloud (AWS, GCP) technologies.
* Datacenter/office network infrastructure buildout experience with scripting and buildout expertise (Python and Ansible preferred).
* Proficiency with network diagnostic and performance tools (netcat, tcptrace, Wireshark, etc.).
