Management Accountant

Job DescriptionAs the sole Management Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management reporting aspects of the finance function, driving positive change within the finance team, and collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and analyze management accounts and business progress reports.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments, and maintain the fixed asset register.
- Prepare and analyze budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and general financial management reports.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, debt, and WIP control processes, and outstanding value of work.
- Report on key performance indicators and trends influencing business performance, developing measures and initiatives to drive improvement, and enhancing reporting processes.
- Undertake financial administration, including leading on external accounting and SRA Account Rules audits.
- Deal with taxation matters concerning the company.
- Interrogate SQL databases to perform data analysis on an ad hoc basis.
- Improve data dashboards using Microsoft Power BI or equivalent.
- Assist with evaluating financial software and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Oversee cost management and spend with external suppliers.
The successful candidate must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with an interest in data analysis and the ability to interrogate data. Experience with Power BI or SQL is highly desirable.
