Position Overview

What Are We Seeking?

In light of our recent achievements and robust project pipeline, RSE is pleased to invite applications for the role of Electrical Technician within our Asset Management & Technical Services division. This is a permanent position where you will become part of a skilled team engaged in various projects across the region. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Safely install cable management systems to a high standard.
  • Gland and terminate cable systems primarily utilized in the industrial sector, adhering to BS 7671 and provided schematics.
  • Install electrical apparatus in compliance with BS 7671 and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conduct tests on electrical systems and circuit continuity using testing instruments to ensure system compatibility and safety.
  • Identify and troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, devices, and components using diagnostic tools and hand tools to rectify issues.
  • Perform work at elevated heights to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Examine electrical systems, equipment, and components to detect hazards, defects, and the necessity for adjustments or repairs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes.
  • Advise management on the potential hazards of continued equipment operation.
  • Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and industry standards.

Qualifications Required:

  • Fully qualified electrician with expertise in the installation, repair, and maintenance of various electrical equipment and components.
  • Current ECS Grading Card (BS 7671 Training, Approved Health and Safety Assessment).
  • Familiarity with tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in the electrical trade.
  • Understanding of applicable electrical standards and regulations.
  • Fully qualified to the 18th Edition standard.
  • Experience in the water industry is advantageous, though candidates from heavy industry backgrounds will also be considered.
  • EUSR Ticket is preferable.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
