Are you a seasoned Finance Manager eager to embrace a new opportunity within the public sector? Our client is on the lookout for a proactive individual to oversee their finance division and enhance the execution of essential financial management functions.
As the Finance Manager, you will be instrumental in establishing budgets, preparing financial statements, monitoring financial performance, and offering expert financial guidance.
Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the Head of Strategic Finance and will have the chance to lead a team comprising Principal Accountants, Senior Accountants, Accountants, trainees, and apprentices. Your outstanding leadership abilities will enable you to set exemplary standards and foster a constructive and efficient work atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Steer the budget formulation process at both the Directorate and Council levels, including the Council Tax setting cycle and related Cabinet documentation.
- Supervise the preparation of year-end financial statements, closure processes, and responses to external audits.
- Effectively monitor budgets to ensure adherence to the Council's financial framework while providing top-notch financial support and advice.
- Promote efficient financial management to align with the Council's vision, objectives, and priorities while adhering to budgetary limits.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in adult social care at a comparable level.
- Strong analytical capabilities and a creative mindset to devise innovative service solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing you to cultivate robust working relationships.
- Experience in advising and challenging senior management on financial management matters.
