About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As a key member of our urology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously to provide an effective nurse-led service, utilizing advanced clinical skills and acting as a role model for the team.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive holistic assessment of patients, utilizing a variety of advanced clinical skills, and advise medical and nursing staff as needed.
  • Assess and diagnose specific symptoms within scope of practice, advise medical and nursing staff, and prescribe medications as required.
  • Provide an effective and accessible telephone advice service for patients and families, promoting and initiating innovations and changes related to improvement of clinical services.
  • Maintain accurate and effective record keeping systems, collecting statistical data and writing reports on a regular basis.
  • Assist with the management of complaints, review services, and assist with Serious Incident (SIs) root cause analysis (RCAs) in conjunction with senior team members.
Requirements
  • RN with NMC PIN with no restrictions to practice.
  • Recognized teaching and assessing qualification.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Significant Band 6 experience in a relevant specialist area.
  • Excellent Leadership & Change management experience.
  • Knowledge of National safer surgery Standards.
