Project OverviewAs a seasoned Environmental Sustainability Lead, you will be integral to the broader environmental and sustainability team, working on a significant new build industrial project valued at £50m.
Your role will involve embedding environmental and sustainability considerations throughout all project stages and formulating and enforcing policies across the organization.
By preparing and presenting detailed reports on environmental performance, you will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote the organization's goals for carbon reduction and sustainable construction.
Key RequirementsTo be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role within a leading contractor or subcontractor.
- Experience in industrial sector projects is highly desirable, though candidates with a proven track record in Environmental & Sustainability Management with reputable contractors are encouraged to apply.
- Proficient in data analysis.
- Significant experience in policy development and implementation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, and standards.
- Skilled in utilizing tools and software for environmental monitoring and data management.
- Ability to create and execute environmental and sustainability plans and programs.
- Expertise in analyzing environmental data and performance metrics to identify trends and improvement areas.
Your duties will include:
- Planning and directing sustainability initiatives to promote eco-friendly practices.
- Encouraging waste reduction, recycling, and reuse initiatives within the organization.
- Preparing and submitting necessary environmental reports and documentation to regulatory bodies.
- Monitoring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Establishing and assessing sustainability goals and targets in alignment with the overall strategy.
- Collecting, analyzing, and reporting on environmental data to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Designing and implementing strategies for the efficient use of resources, including energy, water, and raw materials.
- Building partnerships with external stakeholders to advance sustainability initiatives and share best practices.
- Developing and enforcing environmental and sustainability policies in line with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Conducting environmental impact assessments for new projects to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Regularly monitoring the environmental impact of organizational activities and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborating with various departments to integrate environmental and sustainability considerations into all operational aspects.
- Assessing the effectiveness of environmental and sustainability programs and initiatives, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Preparing and delivering sustainability reports that showcase the organization's environmental performance and progress towards sustainability objectives.
