Role Overview
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Project Controls Manager to enhance our expanding team.
The Project Controls Manager will become part of our growing Yorkshire and Northeast Project Controls team, collaborating with a diverse array of clients and spearheading the adoption of optimal practices in Controls, Planning, Analytics, Reporting, Risk, Change, Resource, and Performance Management solutions for intricate, multidisciplinary client commissions.
As a Project Controls Manager, you will excel in communication, ensuring engagement and collaboration across all aspects of Project Controls to facilitate the successful achievement of project, program, and portfolio goals.
Required Qualifications
Essential:
- Proven experience in collaboration and leadership, overseeing a project controls team on significant commissions or projects, ensuring all scope is delivered and resources are effectively coordinated.
- Demonstrated experience in executing tailored Project Controls Management strategies and processes across projects, programs, and portfolios.
- Comprehensive understanding of best practice project controls principles; recognizing project and business objectives and translating how a client-specific lifecycle or procurement strategy may influence the Project Controls Execution strategy.
- Ability to define success criteria and the processes and governance we implement to ensure its attainment.
- Subject Matter Expertise in at least one area of Project Controls; Planning, Analytics and Reporting, Risk, Cost Control, Estimating, Change, Governance, and Strategy.
- Familiarity with project controls systems such as Primavera, Project Online, Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject, SAP, @Risk, Pertmaster, Active Risk Manager (ARM), Acumen Suite, Power BI, Azure, Tableau, Sharepoint, CEMAR, Conject, etc., with the capability to recommend optimal solutions based on specific client needs.
- Understanding of contracts, particularly NEC, and the impact its details will have on the delivery of Project Controls.
- Conducting assurances and audits – Performing independent reviews to ensure that all project data is of high quality, challenged, and rationalized before submission to clients, ensuring our commissions are managed appropriately and comply with internal standards.
- Confidently presenting project status to stakeholders; assessing current positions, impacts, and making recommendations for recovery plans and mitigation strategies.
- Driving a positive, proactive culture in your commission for Project Controls Management. Holding work package owners accountable for their performance, designing tailored outputs to meet diverse stakeholder needs, identifying key interfaces and dependencies, and implementing governance to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Desirable Qualifications
Experience in line management, particularly in demonstrating role model behavior and the ability to inspire and motivate your team. Skills in bid or proposal preparation, writing, review, and assurance. Proficient oral and written communication skills, resulting in strong relationship building and report writing. A passion for sharing your expertise through mentoring or line management. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
