Senior Control Systems Engineer - Energy Transition UK

We invite you to leverage your engineering expertise and experience in the Energy sector as you deliver high-quality engineering solutions across various projects in the power generation and energy transition domains, including hydrogen production and 'Power to X'.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Chartered Engineer with substantial post-graduate experience in power generation initiatives and plant performance.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with thermal power facilities, including gas turbines, steam turbines, and associated systems.
  • Collaborate with a skilled, diverse, and multi-disciplinary technical team to provide client value and solutions in the energy transition sector.
  • Enhance the efficiency and sustainability of power generation facilities, whether they are newly constructed or existing assets.
  • Engage in a variety of low-carbon and renewable energy projects, energy storage solutions, and an expanding portfolio of hydrogen initiatives.
  • Deliver services ranging from client advisory to EPCm execution, encompassing design to support the client's delivery model.
  • Focus on the transition to green energy as a primary area of emphasis.
  • Conduct plant modeling for feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed designs, and contribute to related reports.
  • Prepare technical specifications and schedules for inclusion in tender documents, including performance guarantees and evaluation criteria.
  • Review contractor design submissions in accordance with contract specifications, applicable standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Assess power plant performance, review performance testing procedures, witness performance tests, and produce independent test reports.
  • Work closely with the assigned Project Manager to ensure deliverable quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Engage in discussions with clients, contractors, manufacturers, and lending agencies.
  • Collaborate across business units within Ramboll to share technical knowledge and lessons learned, fostering staff development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in power generation projects.
  • Proficiency in engineering software packages, particularly GT Pro, Thermoflow, and PEACE.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and high IT literacy.
  • A collaborative approach to working with clients, colleagues, strategic partners, and sub-consultants to provide high-quality consultancy advice.
  • Personal attributes that contribute to success in this role include being a confident communicator with expertise in your field.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet project deadlines, whether working as part of a global team or on individual assignments.
  • Enjoy engaging with clients and confidently interacting with all project stakeholders.
