Job Title: Construction Skills Tutor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Skills Tutor to join our team at National Skills Agency. As a Construction Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for coordinating, designing, delivering, and developing a program of study for groups of learners.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop best practices in learning, teaching, and assessment to ensure standardization and continuity.
  • Assess learners for progress and achievement.
  • Manage and maintain the construction program environment, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed.
  • Engage with local companies and organizations to enhance the construction experience of all learners.
  • Design, develop, and monitor resources for learner use.
  • Act as a personal tutor to a group of learners and coordinate tutorial support.
  • Set targets and engage learners for their lessons.
  • Provide accurate and current feedback on progress and outcomes to managers and students.
  • Monitor learner attendance and maintain appropriate standards of behavior.
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum initiatives, development of standards, and general developmental and professional issues related to the delivery of learning in your area.
  • Complete documentation and records of learner performance and administration associated with the role and responsibilities.
  • Undergo continuous professional development as appropriate and directed.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge, understanding, and application of the construction multi-skills standards.
  • Hold verifiable occupational experience in a relevant area.
  • Flexible and professional approach.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • AET/Cert Ed/PGCE/PTTLS or relevant training or teaching qualification (or willing to work towards).
  • Minimum of level two qualification within a relevant vocational sector or significant occupational experience.
  • English to at least level two.
  • Maths to at least level two.
