Senior Quantity Surveyor – Civils

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Hunter Mason Consulting Ltd. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of construction contracts and the administration of tendering, reviews, and negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the commercial team to ensure effective working and communications.
  • Administer construction contracts, including tendering, reviews, and negotiations.
  • Assist with workforce oversight and subcontractor deployment and time keeping.
  • Meet with subcontractors throughout the works and approve stage payments, including accurate take offs and measurements.
  • Evaluate and process change orders.
  • Generate regular cost reports and forecasts to provide the Construction Manager and Directors with up-to-date financial information.
  • Maintain accurate records of all cost-related documents, contracts, invoices, payments, and correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively with the wider team.
  • Support and seek best values in other areas of the business, advising and assisting where needed.
Requirements:
  • HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related subject.
  • Experience in the Groundworks/Civils sector is desirable.
  • Self-motivated, friendly, sociable, and driven.
  • Full driving license.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Self-motivated personality.
  • Attention to detail with a right-first-time attitude.
  • Organisation and time management skills.
