About the Opportunity

Project: New Prisons Programme

Mace is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Project Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the design and delivery of building and engineering projects, providing electrical engineering design services, and undertaking design of electrical engineering elements for new build or repair/refurbishment projects.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and delivery of building and engineering projects to achieve the highest quality within given timescales, budgets, and statutory requirements.
  • Provide electrical engineering design services, including the design of electrical engineering elements for new build or repair/refurbishment projects.
  • Undertake design of electrical engineering elements, specify systems and performance specifications, and criteria.
  • Be an expert in HV/LV distribution, lighting and emergency lighting, power distribution, data installations, fire engineering, safety and security systems, including alarms, access control, and CCTV.
  • Direct and manage engineers involved in projects or groups of projects or programmes of works.
  • Take the lead role in projects and programmes, and produce information.
  • Carry out quality assurance checks on designs carried out by others.
  • Run, attend, and participate in client meetings and design workshops.

About You

You must be an experienced and qualified electrical engineer with a specialist background, knowledge, and experience in the education, secured environments, office refurbishments, and sustainability and energy management sectors. You must have security clearance and previous experience in project/programme works. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships, and able to take on the role of CDM-C. You will have a construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
