Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Lead Cardiac Physiologist to enhance our Cardio-Respiratory department. This role is integral to our mission of providing exceptional diagnostic services in Cardiology and Respiratory care.

Role Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and interpreting non-invasive diagnostic assessments, as well as engaging in complex procedures. This position offers a full-time commitment with flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage investigations, ensuring timely recognition and response to urgent results.
  • Deliver an ambulatory blood pressure and ECG monitoring service, including the preparation and distribution of devices to patients.
  • Conduct and interpret exercise tolerance tests, maintaining patient safety and responding appropriately in emergencies.
  • Assist in pacing implant procedures and provide follow-up services for cardiac devices under senior supervision.
  • Perform ECG assessments in various settings, advising medical staff on urgent findings.
  • Record vital observations during patient evaluations, taking necessary actions based on results.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • BSc in Cardiac Physiology or equivalent qualifications.
  • Registration with the Council for Clinical Physiologists or Health Care Professions Council.

Desirable:

  • Certification from the Association for the Society of Cardiological Science and Technology.
  • Qualifications in teaching or mentorship.
  • Leadership training or certification.

Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in performing a variety of cardiac investigations.

Desirable:

  • Experience in leading audits and quality control initiatives.
  • Leadership experience within a team setting.

Language Skills

Desirable:

  • Welsh language proficiency (Level 1).

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel between various sites as needed.
  • Flexible approach to meet the demands of the service.
