About The Role

Morrison Energy Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Projects team in South Wales.

As a key member of our Commercial Team, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Commercial Department and project team to maximize profit and minimize risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile relevant information for reports and claims within agreed timescales.
  • Assist with the implementation of commercial applications and develop lasting relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and monitor the risk register in accordance with the project plan.
  • Manage sub-contractor relationships, ensuring timely and compliant quotations and documentation.
  • Develop knowledge of commercial issues and contract law to effectively manage compensation events and claims.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Liaise with the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure commercial cover is maintained.
  • Assist with the recovery of contract costs and enhancement of project profit through variation, delay, and claim identification.
  • Produce monthly project financial and forecast reports for analysis with Finance and Commercial staff.
  • Develop strong negotiating skills and attend handover and progress meetings as required.
  • Contribute to the development of a site commercial manual and document variations.
Requirements
  • Excellent negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial awareness.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Contract costing and contract law knowledge (NEC3/4).
  • Previous experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Clerk roles.
  • Contract experience, capturing site records for variations and valuations.
  • Sub-contract management and cost/value reconciliation skills.
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying and graduate or graduate calibre.
  • Full UK driving license and knowledge of the industry.
