About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with severe mental illness in the North Camden Recovery Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage complex clinical cases involving severe and enduring mental illness and significant risk histories.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and case management options.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the North Camden Recovery Team and the division as a whole.
Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice.
  • Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility).
  • Registered with Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD programme and in good standing.
  • Shared Services training up to date to be an approved trainer/clinical supervisor.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience

We would welcome applications from candidates with:

  • Trained as an Educational Supervisor for doctors in training.
  • Training as a Consultant mentor.
  • Other relevant post-graduate qualification (incl. those gained outside UK).
  • Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry.
