Job Title: Community Midwife - Flexible Working Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Midwife to join our team at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Community Midwife, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to mothers and babies in the community, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise in community midwifery. You will be working in a 24-cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, level 3, within the Cheshire and Mersey Neonatal Network, providing care for infants and their families from 22 weeks and above.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a defined group of patients, under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in developing and maintaining a system of family-centred care.
  • Advise on the promotion of health, recognising the physical, emotional, and social situations that may influence the needs of the mother, baby, and family.
  • Take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the babies and their families.
  • Where responsible for the custody and administration of drugs, carry this out according to Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in Clinical Supervision.
  • Participate in effective communication with all staff in matters affecting patient care.
  • Provide accurate verbal or written information relating to patient care to other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Requirements
  • Current 1st level RSCN/RN/Midwife.
  • Degree in Nursing.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
