Are you a forward-thinking Assistant Headteacher dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for students with diverse needs?

Benton House School is an innovative special educational needs (SEN) institution designed to support students with complex requirements, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. With a capacity for 60 students, this new establishment is a significant addition to our educational offerings.

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Headteacher to play a pivotal role in the establishment and development of our new school.

Outcomes First Group is a premier independent provider of specialized education and residential care for at-risk youth. We are at the forefront of implementing and delivering innovative strategies that yield measurable improvements for those we serve.

  • Competitive salary up to £55,000 per annum, based on experience
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Term time only
  • Permanent position

Role Overview

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a high-quality educational service that aligns with company policies and the standards set by regulatory authorities. Collaborating with the Head Teacher, leadership team, and various stakeholders, you will strive to maintain exceptional standards throughout the institution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safeguarding protocols as outlined by local safeguarding authorities
  • Engage in the assessment process for student referrals
  • Oversee curriculum coordination and management across the school
  • Lead initiatives for positive behavioral support
  • Collaborate as a key member of a multidisciplinary team encompassing education, residential care, and clinical services
  • Monitor student progress and set targets to ensure each individual achieves their potential

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching students with SEMH and/or challenging behaviors
  • Proven track record in supporting students with complex needs
  • Experience in staff management
  • Ability to manage budgets effectively and ensure cost efficiency
  • Possession of a degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
