Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Preservation Specialist to join our team at the Digital Preservation Coalition. As a key member of our archives and manuscripts team, you will play a critical role in supporting metadata creation and management activities associated with cataloguing and digitisation of archives and manuscripts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transform metadata from unstructured forms into approved formats, ensuring compliance with our metadata guidelines.
  • Support colleagues working on cataloguing collection materials, providing expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on metadata to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Publish and update relevant metadata in internal systems and our public-facing catalogue.
Requirements
  • Ability to work with highly valuable items, requiring a satisfactory basic Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move collection material and library records, using manual and mechanical aids as needed.
