Mechanical Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at a UK market-leading manufacturer of conveyor systems and automated materials handling equipment.

About the Role:

This is a permanent opportunity in Newton Aycliffe, fully office based, offering a salary of £35,000-£45,000. Supported training opportunities are also on offer.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop conveyor systems to specified brief.
  • Produce 3D models and technical drawings in accordance with company CAD standards.
  • Produce technical documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Manage drawings, bill of materials, and technical documents using company systems.
  • Ensure design compliance with project brief, relevant standards, and regulations.
  • Carry out technical analysis of designs with a view to improving DfMA and system functionality.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
  • 3D CAD software knowledge (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Knowledge of drafting standards and technical drawing.
  • Qualified in a relevant design or engineering discipline (HNC, degree, etc.).
  • Proficient at using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of the design process, and its associated documentation.

What We Offer:

You will be working for a UK market-leading manufacturer on a salary range of £35,000-£45,000 with a generous benefits package.

The working hours are from Mon-Thurs from 8am-4:30pm, with a 3:30pm early finish on a Friday. Additionally, you will get a paid 15-minute morning break.
