Senior Forestry Policy Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our forestry operations and develop strategic policies to ensure the sustainable management of our forest estate.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement forestry policies and strategies to meet our climate action plan objectives, including afforestation and peatland restoration.
- Influence the development of external policies and standards, ensuring our forestry practices meet the highest standards.
- Regulate forestry-related legislative matters and provide expert advice on forest authority roles.
- Oversee the stewardship of our forest estate, ensuring sustainable management and protection of our assets.
- Develop marketing strategies and contract supply arrangements to maximize timber sales and meet strategic objectives.
- Secure and manage budgets and resources to deliver policies, strategies, and operational plans.
- Hold a degree in Forestry or a related field, with a minimum of 5 points assessed by the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
- Be a Chartered Forester or Chartered Arboriculturist, or a member of a recognized professional forestry body.
- Have at least 3 years' experience in strategic decision-making and policy development at a senior management level, with a proven track record of leading and directing work programs.
- A senior leadership role in the forestry sector, with opportunities for career progression.
