Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Exhibitions and Collections Technician to join our Museum Services team on a part-time basis (4 days a week). This role is integral to providing engaging and high-quality experiences for various audiences utilizing UCL's extensive cultural assets.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Assist in the execution of exhibitions across multiple spaces, including both museum and library environments.
- Provide essential technical support for collections management and facilitate the logistics of exhibition installations and deinstallations.
- Collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, including curatorial, conservation, and collections management teams, to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Offer technical assistance in managing collections and preparing for outward loans.
Working Conditions
This role requires manual handling, and appropriate training will be provided to ensure safety and efficiency.
Flexible Working Options
We are open to considering applications for part-time, flexible, and job-sharing arrangements where feasible.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience in handling and moving various types of museum objects and artworks.
- Practical skills in mount making, including design and production.
- Experience in supporting exhibition setups, particularly with AV and display equipment.
- A track record of managing projects effectively, ensuring timely coordination among stakeholders.
