Our Care Home in Dovercourt, Essex, is a family-owned establishment that provides the highest standards of care to older people with a range of needs, including dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health issues.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be working alongside and mentoring a team of Care Assistants to ensure that outstanding care is delivered at all times. You will be engaging in meaningful activities with our residents, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality care to our residents, including those with dementia and physical disabilities
  • Mentoring and supporting a team of Care Assistants to ensure excellent care standards
  • Creating person-centred care plans and risk assessments to ensure the successful delivery of outstanding care
  • Working collaboratively with the Home Manager and ancillary teams to ensure the smooth running of the care home

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £13.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
  • 24 hours per week, with 2 x 12 hour night shifts from 8pm - 8am, Monday - Sunday
  • Enhanced bank holiday pay and annual salary review
  • 28 days holiday, including bank holidays, and free on-site parking
  • Comprehensive induction programme and funded qualifications via the apprenticeship programme
  • Paid uniform and employee of the month scheme

Requirements:

  • Two years' experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant with an NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or three years' experience without an NVQ
  • Experience in a nursing or care home, or as a home care worker
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
  • Knowledge and practice of working with people suffering with dementia is desirable
