Position Overview

Versatile Engineering Supervisor

Are you an experienced engineer with a strong electrical foundation? Do you seek a role that offers diversity and the chance to utilize your innovative troubleshooting abilities?

Location: Imerys facilities in Cornwall, with potential travel to various sites.

Compensation: Starting salary of £43, inclusive of shift and supervisory allowances.

*Salary may increase to £46,899.21 upon completion of training and competency assessments.

Work Schedule: Rotating shifts over a 4-week cycle:

Day Shift: Week 1: 7am – 7pm - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thur off)

Week 2: 7am – 7pm Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)

Night Shift: Week 3: 7pm – 7am - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thur off)

Week 4: 7pm – 7am Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)

As part of our skilled team, you will be responsible for conducting electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with fixed plant machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Repair and maintain electrical panels and instrumentation
  • Provide support to other Imerys locations in the region
  • Manage sourcing and ordering of materials
  • Oversee timekeeping and vacation requests
  • Prioritize tasks effectively and adjust plans as necessary
  • Engage in work at heights and in confined spaces.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a maintenance engineering background in a production or heavy industrial setting, with both electrical and mechanical expertise in fixed processing equipment. Additionally, you should:

  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering Maintenance
  • Have experience with pumps, centrifuges, and burners/furnaces; welding skills are advantageous
  • Be legally permitted to drive in the UK
  • Exhibit strong IT proficiency
  • Demonstrate a high level of health, safety, and environmental awareness
