Position Overview
The Cyber Defence and Risk (CyDR) division plays a crucial role in the realm of cyber security and information technology, spearheading the transformation efforts within the Ministry of Defence (MOD). This includes the establishment of cyber security protocols, architectural frameworks, and governance structures essential for effective risk management.
The Deputy Security Clearance Officer position is integral to the MOD's security assurance framework, overseeing the management, validation, and dissemination of security clearances globally for both Service and Civilian personnel, including those at the ministerial level. Additionally, you will serve as the Deputy STRAPSO, sharing the responsibility for safeguarding departmental information security.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the administration, verification, and distribution of security clearances for Service and Civilian personnel globally, including ministerial levels.
- Maintain and update databases for the onboarding and offboarding of personnel, ensuring regular communication with external authorities.
- Provide clearance information for CyDR personnel traveling to national and international destinations.
- Act as deputy STRAPSO, ensuring the integrity of secure office environments in line with MOD and Cabinet Office policies.
- Draft local standing orders governing operational practices within secure areas.
- Facilitate account creation for IT and telecommunication services.
- Keep accurate records of classified documents and media.
- Support the broader CyDR Business Unit in various capacities.
Candidate Profile

Depending on business needs, occasional travel within the UK or abroad may be required.
Successful candidates may need to obtain DV clearance if not already held. This position is exclusively open to sole UK nationals.
