Role Overview:

The position of Activities Support Coordinator encompasses much more than merely organizing events; it involves offering care and assistance to some of the most vulnerable individuals in our society.

In this full-time role, you will contribute to fostering an activity-driven environment at our facility, utilizing both technical and creative skills to assist in the development, execution, and coordination of programs centered around social, recreational, and leisure activities.

Your responsibilities will include establishing one-on-one and group relationships with service users, which will help to shape and enhance activities to boost participation. As you design and implement activities tailored to their interests, it is crucial to maintain a strong focus on their individual needs to support their treatment plans.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will create connections with community resources to encourage service users to engage in local activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating social and recreational programs for service users within a secure setting.
  • Gathering insights from service users regarding their social and recreational preferences.
  • Monitoring general behavior, abilities, and responses of service users, providing regular updates to relevant team members.
  • Documenting observations and progress in service users' clinical records under supervision.
  • Adhering to security protocols and following service policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Conducting basic risk assessments for individuals and groups of service users on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, welfare, and security standards for service users, staff, and visitors.
  • Exhibiting effective coordination skills and resource management.

Qualifications:

  • Basic skills in group facilitation.
  • A minimum of 12 months experience in a mental health environment (preferred).
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team framework.
  • Self-motivation and initiative.
  • Understanding of mental health issues and their impact on daily functioning.
  • A solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Awareness of gender-specific needs and cultural considerations of service users.
  • A valid UK Driver's License.
