Position Overview:

Dunbar Education is committed to enhancing the educational experience for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are currently looking for dedicated and skilled SEN Educational Support Specialists to join our team.

About Us:
Dunbar Education focuses on delivering outstanding assistance to children facing various learning challenges. We value individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of these children.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in supporting children with SEN.

Certification Requirements:
SEN Teachers are required to hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Background Check:
All candidates must have a DBS on the update service. Experience with diverse SEN needs, including ADHD, ASD, PMLD, and behavioral issues, is highly advantageous.

Role of SEN Support Specialists:
As a SEN Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing tailored support to individual students both in and out of the classroom, ensuring their full engagement in all activities.
  • Assisting students with emotional or behavioral challenges and fostering their social development.

Role of SEN Teachers:
As an SEN Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing, preparing, and delivering lessons that cater to the unique needs of students with SEN.
  • Managing student behavior in accordance with school policies and promoting positive conduct.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, to address the needs of students.
  • Participating in staff meetings and engaging in continuous professional development.
