Job Description

Safran Landing Systems is a world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems, driving innovation and safety in aviation. We design, test, manufacture, and assemble landing gear for commercial aircraft and military platforms.

This role is responsible for leading the Systems Integration team to meet agreed milestones and deliverables on time, on cost, and on quality. The successful candidate will oversee the landing gear systems integration activities, including requirements management, safety and reliability, performance and dynamics, to develop, qualify, and support landing gear systems throughout their life cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers to meet programme project milestones and deliverables on time, to cost, and quality.
  • Project management, including scope definition, planning, cost management, communication, reporting, and problem-solving.
  • Manage and support the personal and professional development of team members.
  • Oversee team activities to support delivery and development.
  • Manage team resourcing and performance, including hiring, onboarding, outsourcing, performance management, wellbeing support, and training and development.
  • Collaborate with functional managers to ensure adequate resourcing, skills, and relevant tools are available to meet strategic business needs.
  • Ensure the team applies relevant procedures and processes relevant to the function.
  • Support the team to develop technical capability, improve ways of working, and capture knowledge using the Knowledge Sharing Network.
Requirements
  • Qualified to a minimum of HND level in a relevant engineering or programme management discipline, with relevant experience.
  • A proactive individual with experience of leading a team and project management.
  • Ability to act as a mentor and coach to team members.
  • Strong communication skills with multifunctional teams of suppliers and customers, able to build relationships to ensure success.
  • Project management and estimation experience is essential. Good knowledge of MS Project is an advantage, as is Planisware Enterprise.
  • Knowledge of the principles of mechanical engineering, systems engineering, safety and reliability, and performance and dynamics are preferred.
  • Previous experience of landing gear structures and systems and understanding of their design principles would be advantageous.
