Secondary Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are collaborating with a reputable secondary school in Welwyn Garden City to find a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students in reaching their full potential.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in an Ofsted-rated 'Good' school where students behave and study well due to the high standards set by leaders.

The role is on a long-term supply basis, and the successful candidate is expected to start in September 2024.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, ensuring they stay engaged and on task.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Support students with varying abilities and learning needs, including those with special educational needs.
  • Act as a positive role model for students, promoting appropriate behaviour and social skills.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Secondary Teaching Assistant is essential.
  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities are crucial.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with staff and students.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of the school environment.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) is desirable but not essential.
