Job Title: Aerospace Safety Manager

Smurfit Westrock is a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Safety Manager to join our team in Leicester, UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing all Health and Safety responsibilities for the Leicester Consumer Packaging site. This includes leading the site H&S Committee meetings, working collaboratively with employees, and developing internal policies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of H&S legislation, experience as a trainer, and NEBOSH certification. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to and communicate effectively with others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and execute all Health and Safety responsibilities for the Leicester Consumer Packaging site.
  • Lead the site H&S Committee meetings and work collaboratively with employees.
  • Develop internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with H&S legislation.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on H&S matters.
  • Conduct regular site and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage the Safety Excellence System (SES) and Environmental e2 Excellence System.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of HS&E legislation/developments.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of H&S legislation.
  • Experience as a trainer.
  • NEBOSH certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with others.
