We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Centre Operations Specialist to join our team at Equinix. As a critical member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities- Facility Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure the optimal performance of our facility infrastructure through regular maintenance and inspections.
- Site Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms to identify potential issues.
- Preventative Maintenance: Oversee and execute preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, including managing the permit to work system.
- Repairs & Corrective Maintenance: Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Planned Maintenance: Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs (Method of Procedure) and scripts.
- Incident Response: Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and take initiative in handling basic incidents based on your expertise.
- Work Requests & Installations: Complete basic work requests and circuit installations efficiently.
- Infrastructure Projects: Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects to enhance our facilities.
- Works Projects: Execute small works projects, such as lighting upgrades, to improve site functionality.
- Educational Background: ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Previous experience in data centre or critical environment settings.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred.
- Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
