About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Early Years Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Bright Horizons Twickenham Meadway Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our children by providing high-quality food and a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children, adhering to dietary requirements and minimizing food waste.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external health and safety standards.
  • Support the Chef in the preparation and cooking of meals, and take responsibility for the running of the kitchen in their absence.
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health, and safety, and safeguarding.
  • Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy, and safe environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a kitchen role, preferably in a domestic or commercial setting.
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits.
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – this must be passed on day 1 in post.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing different dietary requirements.
  • Great communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
