Job Title: Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our Humanities Department at a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in London. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Geography teachers and helping students excel in their studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Geography teachers with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Support students with their coursework and homework assignments, providing guidance and feedback to help them succeed.
  • Assist with the organisation of Geography-related activities and field trips, enhancing the learning experience and promoting student engagement.
  • Contribute to the development of engaging and interactive teaching materials, helping to inspire and motivate students.
  • Provide additional support to students with varying learning needs, ensuring that all students have access to the support they require.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Geography or a related field, with a strong knowledge and passion for the subject.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting teaching and learning, with a commitment to student success.
  • A DBS check on the update service, with the ability to work with vulnerable students.
