Job Title: Steel Principal Research Analyst

McCloskey by OPIS is seeking a highly skilled Steel Principal Research Analyst to join its research team. As a key member of our Steel and Steel Raw Materials group, you will play a critical role in providing in-depth analysis and insights on the global steel market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain steel price assessments, including prices and premiums for Green Steel, with a focus on the European market.
  • Generate news content on the steel sector, with a focus on Green Steel, and contribute to our daily and weekly news deliverables.
  • Conduct periodic research pieces on topical industry issues, such as regulatory/policy developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, and ESG.
  • Maintain client and industry relationships, leveraging your existing network to drive business growth.
  • Engage in business development, assisting OPIS' account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.
  • Represent McCloskey and OPIS as a public face in the steel space, via client/stakeholder engagements, industry presentations, media interviews, and content marketing.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries or markets.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, with a proven track record of impact and influence.
  • Excellent ability to present and lead public discussions, including moderating panels at conferences.
  • Quantitative skills advantageous.
  • Exemplary written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone.
  • Ability to manage others while maintaining personal output.
  • Bachelor's degree.
