We are Peaks & Dales Recruitment, a leading recruitment agency, and we are currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a successful gastro operation in Derbyshire.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and ambitious Sous Chef to take charge of a busy kitchen and lead a team of junior members. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a flair for creativity, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Head Chef in menu planning and preparation
  • Leading a team of junior chefs and providing guidance and support
  • Ensuring high-quality food is prepared and presented to a high standard
  • Managing kitchen inventory and supplies
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a similar gastro pub environment
  • Strong knowledge of local and seasonal produce
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • A passion for food and a creative approach to menu planning
